Mother of three, NK Navarro is an educator, author, entrepreneur, and advocate dedicated to creating inclusive, engaging learning experiences for children. With a strong background in education, social justice, and environmental policy, she has spent her career developing programs that empower students and communities. She holds advanced degrees in education and public policy from Tufts University and has taught at institutions such as Babson College and Merrimack College.
Despite her extensive experience in education, nothing prepared NK for the journey she embarked on when her youngest son, Caidon, was diagnosed with low vision. Suddenly, she found herself searching for resources, strategies, and support to help him navigate a world that wasn’t built with his needs in mind. She realized there was a significant gap in accessible, engaging content for children like Caidon—so she set out to create it herself.
The Caidon Series was born from this journey. Inspired by her son’s vivid imagination and resilience, NK created a collection of stories that not only celebrate children with visual impairments but also foster inclusion and understanding among all young readers. Through her writing, she hopes to empower parents, educators, and children to embrace different ways of seeing and experiencing the world.
Beyond children’s literature, NK is also a passionate writer of paranormal romance, sci-fi, and flash fiction. Whether she’s crafting imaginative worlds, exploring the supernatural, or delivering thought-provoking short fiction, her work is always rooted in rich storytelling and dynamic characters.
In addition to her work as an author and educator, NK is a trailblazing entrepreneur whose initiatives in education, equity, and community investment have been recognized in major publications, including The Boston Globe and the Boston Business Journal. Her commitment to innovation and inclusion continues to shape the future of learning and storytelling.
Join NK Navarro on this journey of discovery, advocacy, and storytelling as she works to make learning more accessible for all while exploring the limitless possibilities of fiction.
